Yesterday, March 17, 2018, would have been Frank E. Turner’s 127th birthday. Grandpa Turner, as he is known in our family, was a patient guy with a good sense of humor. Everyone of his grandchildren speaks wistfully and fondly of him.
I knew him well before I was part of the family via my best friend Jo. He was Grandfather Turner to her and I met him many times over the years during his visits to Sackets for school events or holiday visits. I remember him as a small, chuckling fellow–a bit of laughter walking into the room.
He was of the Tunis family of Massachussetts and someone has traced his line back to Lithuania. I need to catch up with that information one of these days. Happy Birthday, Grandpa Turner. You are remembered well and missed.
